The Henricopolis Premedical Academy is a nine-month educational program that will prepare post-baccalaureate and associate-degree college graduates conceptually for the Basic Sciences in medical or allied health schools, for passing entrance examinations, such as the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT), and for navigating the admissions process to health professional schools. The curriculum is delivered in small-group, Inquiry-Based-Learning sessions, and emphasizes concepts over memorization. The innovative Genomics-Age curriculum builds understanding from simple to complex organismic levels through time and as they evolved. Instructors are all experienced medical educators. The course includes exam preparation workshops in the Expert Skills Program (www.ttuhsc.edu/SOM/Success), use of VH Dissector digital educational resources (www.toltech.net), clinical applications throughout the course drawn from StatPearls (statpearls.com), and hands-on learning experiences in laboratories to build understanding in anatomy, physiology, and the other medical basic sciences.
